The Role
As a leader in our Energy practice, you will lead our research and consulting engagements for the power sector pertaining to fields such as grid modernization, renewables integration, regulatory compliance, providing in-depth analysis, strategic insights, and actionable recommendations to our energy clients. 

Your expertise will also contribute to the development of our intelligence platform alongside acquisition and servicing of our consulting projects. Overall, this is a high-impact,  entrepreneurial role, offering you the opportunity to build and shape up FSX’s power business from the outset.

Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis: 

• Lead research efforts in Power sector priorities including power market modelling, grid upgradation, energy storage, renewable fuels, etc.
• Develop and maintain research models, methodologies, and frameworks, and coach and mentor junior team members in developments linked to the power.
• Represent FSX at industry conferences, seminars, webinars, and workshops, establishing the company as a thought leader in the field.

Client Engagement: 

• Lead business development activities by writing proposals and showcasing FSX’s research capabilities to new prospects.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders in FSX’s commercial and marketing teams for lead generation, and pipeline development.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor in the power market.

Product Development: 

• Support internal ideation and brainstorming for novel intelligence platform concepts, and market validation efforts.
• Collaborate with the extended product team in developing product business case, initial wireframes, and subsequent product pilots.

Qualifications:

• Degree in a science-related field/economics with at least 5-10 years of experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution.
• Proven experience as an analyst or consultant with exposure to business development, preferably in a research or advisory firm.
• Strong storytelling and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyse complex data sets and derive meaningful insights. Familiarity with PLEXOS is desirable.
• Proficiency in team management and direct experience in a startup environment is a plus.
